Winter has come !

Hier a eu lieu le vernissage de l’exposition hommage à Game of Thrones au Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde à Paris. Réservé aux journaliste pour l’occasion, nous avons pu montrer à un happy few la vingtaine d’oeuvres de l’exposition, tout en savourant les incroyables gâteaux et cupcakes de nos partenaires de chez Paint Cakes. Il y avait du lourd : outre trois cupcakes aux couleurs de Game of Thrones, nous avons pu déguster Westeros en gâteau. Oui, oui, Westeros, ou en tout cas ses grandes capitales. Tout y était ! King’s Landing était d’ailleurs particulièrement délicieux… Sans oublier les 3 autres gâteaux dédiés à la Khaleesi, aux oeufs de Dragons, et à la folie du bon roi Jeoffrey. Un excellent moment en compagnie de certains artistes ayant participé à l’expo, mais aussi de journalistes et de blogueurs passionnés. Aujourd’hui, l’expo est ouverte au public à partir de 18 heures, et ce jusqu’au 6 mai. N’hésitez pas à venir ce soir, et n’oubliez pas que les oeuvres sont disponibles uniquement au Dernier Bar pendant un mois, limitées à 20 impressions chaque !

Yesterday was the press premiere of Ice & Fire, the artshow tribute to Game of Thrones at the Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde in Paris. We invited bloggers and journalists, showed them the artshow, and fed them with awesome Westeros cupcakes and cakes especially designed by Paint Cakes for the Premiere ! Lots of good vibes during this time, but now the artshow opened its doors to you guys ! You can come today to discover more than 20 artworks dedicated to the world of George R.R. Martin ! Don’t hesitate to pass and say hi, and don’t forget that all the prints are available in ultra limited quantities directly in the Bar itself ! See you there tonight !

Winter is coming to Paris !

Ça y est, l’hiver arrive sur Geek-Art ! Et j’ai envie de dire qu’avec la météo qu’on subit en ce moment, on ne sera pas dépaysé… Plus sérieusement, c’est avec une immense fierté que je vous annonce que la semaine prochaine, le Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde accueillera la nouvelle exposition Geek-Art sur le thème de la saga culte de George R.R. Martin, le Trône de Fer, plus connu par les puriste qui lisent en anglais sous le nom de A song of Ice and Fire. Ces livres m’ont hanté pendant des mois entiers, et organiser une exposition sur ce thème, quelques jours après le début de la troisième saison de la remarquable série TV, est un bonheur sans nom.

Encore une fois, de nombreux artistes ont répondu présent, et je les en remercie : Gregoire Guillemin, Arian Noveir, Manuel Kilger, Mike Puncekar, Matt Ferguson, Josh LN (dont vous pouvez avoir un aperçu de l’oeuvre dans l’affiche ci-dessus), Anne Masse, Andry Rajoelina, James Boorman, Ronan Toulhoat, Eva Eskelinen, Ricardo Bessa, Kanthesis, Josh Rogan… Du beau monde et de superbes prints vous attendront au Bar à partir de mardi prochain. Alors sortez vos bottes de fourrures, aiguisez vos lames, recommandez vos âmes aux 7 ou aux Anciens Dieux, car cette expo risque d’être exceptionnelle ! En tout cas moi, j’ai choisi mon camp depuis longtemps : Winterfell vaincra. Plus d’infos dans les jours qui viennent…

At last, Winter is coming to Geek-Art ! I am so really proud to announce you guys the next Geek-Art artshow, that will be hosted again by my friends from Le Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde in Paris. The Ice and Fire artshow will pay tribute to George R.R. Martin’s remarkable saga : A Song of Ice and Fire. Those books haunted me for months, with a strenght that I had not known since my first reading of the Lord of the Rings, and organizing an artshow about it, a few days after the release of the 3rd season of the brilliant TV show, is pure joy.

Once again, numerous artists participated to this show, and I thank them : Gregoire Guillemin, Arian Noveir, Manuel Kilger, Mike Puncekar, Matt Ferguson, Josh LN (whose design we used for the flyer above), Anne Masse, Andry Rajoelina, James Boorman, Ronan Toulhoat, Eva Eskelinen, Ricardo Bessa, Kanthesis, Josh Rogan…We will wait for you next week, so get your fur boots and take your swords and shields, my dear Sers, make a prayer to the 7 or to the Old Gods, because this will ba a R’llhor of a show. Personnaly I choose my House : Winterfell will prevail. Stay tuned for more infos in the next few days…

Voilà, c’est officiel, l’expo Manga ! que j’ai organisée sur le thème des mangas des 80s et 90s à l’occasion du salon Made in Asia de Bruxelles sera pendant un mois sur la capitale ! Je suis ravi que Manga Space ait accepté de l’accueillir, et je vous invite à nous rejoindre autour d’un verre de saké lors du vernissage qui aura lieu ce vendredi au 30 rue Damrémont dans le 18e (metro Place de Clichy, Blanche, Lamarck-Caulaincourt,  Abesses). On vous attend nombreux pour y admirer les oeuvres exclusives de cette expo à laquelle ont répondu des artistes du monde entier. 

IMPORTANT : les oeuvres seront disponibles à la vente exclusivement pour les visiteurs en précommande directement auprès de Manga Space tout le week-end. Puis elles seront mises en vente sur la boutique en ligne Geek-Art dès le mardi 2 avril fin de journée. Soyez prêts ! Un petit rappel des prints qui vous attendent dans les jours qui viennent, en attendant voici à quoi ressemble le Manga Space !

 
That’s it ! The Manga ! artshow I organized for the Made in Asia Convention in Brussels the 8th of March will be hosted in Paris during a month ! I’m so glad that Manga Space accepted to invite this fantastic artshow within their walls. Please come visit us this friday at 7PM around a glass of sake for the premiere ! We will be waiting for you this friday the 29th of March 30 rue Damrémont Paris 75018 (metro Place de Clichy, Blanche, Lamarck-Caulaincourt,  Abesses). There you’ll be able to enjoy those great artworks, designed especially for this artshow by artists from all around the world !
