Il y a quelques semaines s’est ouvert à la galerie A Little Known Shop (Anaheim, Californie) une exposition en hommage à ce qui fut un grand, un très grand studio d’animation : les studios Don Bluth. Pour ceux qui ont oublié, Don Bluth c’est entre autres Fievel, Brisby et le Secret de Nihm, Rock-O-Rico, Anastasia, Titan A.E., le Petit Dinosaure et la Vallée des Merveilles, mais aussi des jeux vidéos comme Dragon’s Lair. Un maître, donc, dont le oeuvres ont bercées mon enfance autant que celles de Walt Disney (chez qui il a d’ailleurs commencé sa carrière). Ewa Sowinski et Kelley Frisby de A Little Known Shop, avec pour curateur le collectif 2SketchyDames, ont décidé de monter cette expo et de rendre hommage à ce très grand de l’animation avec une pléthore d’artistes. Voici une sélection de photos que ces dames ont eu la gentillesse de m’envoyer pour vous, amateurs de Geek-Art !
A few weeks ago in Anaheim California opened an art show tribute to Don Bluth Studios in A Little Known Shop. For those who might ignore it, Don Bluth created animation marvels like Fievel, The Secret of Nimh, Titan A.E., Rock a Doodle, The Land Before Time, but also video games such as Dragon’s Lair. A real Master of Animation. All those movies are part of my childhood, on the same level than Walt Disney (a company he began his career in by the way). Kudos to Eva Sowinski and Kelley Frisby from A Little Known Shop, and to the collective 2SketchyDames (who curated this show), to pay tribute to an animation studio too often forgotten. They were kind enough to send me pics of the event for you, Geek-Art fans !
