Crowdfunding | Moon Deer, by Yoann Kavege

To the Stars

Launched in 2016 by Nicolas Devé and Benoît Vallon during the Angoulême Comics Festival, Bubble was originally a collection management app made for comic book fans. Moon Deer is their first original editorial project, entirely designed by Yoann Kavege. The project is currently being funded on Ulule, and it’s an understatement to say that we fell in love with this graphic novel!

Yoann Kavege has been carrying Moon Deer in his head, and in the stars, since 2016. It is in 2020 that he finds a final version to his story, in the form of a graphic novel of nearly 190 pages, all in color. But what is it about?

Stalked relentlessly by a mysterious creature, Moon Deer has only one goal: to protect the Egg across the vast, empty space. Aboard his ship, the little deer scours the planets to escape his pursuer and tries to reach his secret goal. A terrible chase whose outcome could seal the fate of the universe struck by the Great Silence… But should we trust appearances?

We feel inspirations that speak to our little hearts of SF lovers: Moebius in the contemplation, Fiona Staples with Saga of course or the way of approaching SF of Mathieu Bablet. The latter also realized the collector cover of the graphic novel. We also find different artists who will make illustrations only for the campaign: Elsa Charretier, Guillaume Singelin, Mimie, Yohan Sacré, Elisa Marraudino or Thomas Landry.

In short, you will have understood, here is a wonderful project that is born and that you can still support on the Ulule page of the project. And of course, go and discover Yoann Kavege’s work on his different networks.
