Matt Taylor : Movie Posters and Crazy Colors

In Matt We Trust

Another insanely talented artist I discovered through the Mondo gallery art shows throughout the years ! Matt Taylor is an awesome British artist  who regularly collaborated with the Texas Gallery before beginning working for magazine, books covers and gig posters, without never losing his talent for the pop culture related artworks.

Matt really has a special fingerprint in the movie poster industry, especially his takes on the Marvel cinematic universe movies (Mondo has a long history of Marvel movie posters). Matt has a real talent for composition and for the use of colors. He creates vibrant, powerful and dynamic posters, clearly an echo from the classic movie posters of the 50s. But, you know, with more colors. Also, his use of typography really brings something special to the whole composition, and as a typo lover myself, this makes me happy !

Perfect composition, sense of design and typography, badassness level over 9000… And a real and sincere form of poetry in some of his more personal artworks (or for movies such as Lost in Translation), now you know why you have to follow him on Instagram !
