Noir Princesses by Ástor Alexander
All right, we’ve all seen a lot of the Disney princess revisits we love so much. Whether it’s a pin-up, a male version, a modern version, we know it’s a perfect medium for inspiration and diversion.
And that’s what Ástor Alexander has decided to do here. With his old school and figurative style, this American artist has decided to take up princesses again, but this time by imagining them in film noir, with a 1950s flavor. It is with this touch of originality that we will find Pocahontas as a private detective, Ariel as a burglar or Belle as a bounty hunter. All these heroines are represented here as femmes fatales, and the result is just great.
We used to love to see Disney get into such movies, which would make us a little different from the tasteless live-action movies we know these days. Anyway, take a look at Ástor’s Behance page where you can discover all his creations (including a series on The Witcher that’s worth a look!).
