Meike Hakkaart, aka Maquenda, is a Dutch artist who is greatly inspired by tribal cultures and mythologies. Her work revolves around Women, and what they represents since the early beginnings of ancestral cultures. Strength, creation, protection… She also mentions on her bio her interest in the history of witches, which makes complete sense in her work. I particularly liked this mix between modern graphics and tribal and primal inspirations. Some of the pieces may shock those who are a little too sensitive, but that’s the strength of her work!
