EROPUNK
I’m really in love with the art of Tarosuke, a Japanese illustrator living in Osaka. There is a fascinating mix of genres in his style: the slightly naive European comics of the 70s, the manga of the same period (obviously), but also eroticism, fantasy, cyberpunk, horror and SF. Add to that crazy colors, flat tints mixed with textured renderings and watercolor, in short there is enough to get lost in these incredible works and these fantastic heroines! I find particularly interesting the eyes of the characters, these kind of shining headlights in each of the works of our Japanese artist. He doesn’t have many fans on Twitter or Instagram yet, I invite you to subscribe to his pages to give him more visibility.
And you, which universes remind you of these incredible creatures? I see a lot of references that inspired me during my childhood and my work: thus, in some visuals, I distinguish Astroboy, Hellboy, in others clearly references to erotic mangas, but also cyberpunk. Of course, everyone will see different things depending on his taste and personal artistic experiences… At Geek-Art, we really appreciate these artists who succeed in creating their own visual universe from many references and experiences. It is a particularly difficult exercise but oh so gratifying, and I let you now lose yourself in these small masterpieces…
