Super Mario ! Expo Bottleneck Gallery

Super Mario is 35

The Bottleneck Gallery celebrates Super Mario’s 35th anniversary with an art show entirely dedicated to the Nintendo hero, curated by artist Chogrin. 2018 marks indeed the 35th anniversary of Mario Bros. (1983), the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. 3, and the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros movie (1993). The very first apparition of ou favorite red plumber is indeed the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros., a couple of years before the release of the cult classic Super Mario Bros. on NES. Curated by Chogrin, this art show involves a hundred artists from all over the world, all paying tribute with their visual universe to the famous plumber. Sculptures, paintings, prints… Mario is more famous than ever !

The art show opened last Friday the 7th, and we picked a few artworks you can check below. Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the game, would be proud ! You can check the whole show on the dedicated tumblr page as well as on the Bottleneck Gallery website.  Enjoy !
