The Art Of Stamnos Édition : Engrave Pop Culture
The term “stamnos” refers to an antique vase that was used primarily to mix and preserve wine in antiquity. He is recognizable by his figures, sometimes red brick, sometimes black, which often illustrate great myths, Roman or Greek. Atelier Stamnos, of which we are going to speak here, makes a parallel between the colors of its plates of wood engravings and those of the famous antique vases.
The workshop is held by Nicolas Amoroso. He is a talented engraver drawing his inspiration from traditional Japanese prints but also from Giger, Lovecraft and Derleth. Lover of a job well done, his collection of prints is simply beautiful. Whether he’s working on The Witcher, Slender Man, or the demons of medieval legends, he always manages to make our imagination work and immerse ourselves in these universes with power.
