Exploded Retro Gaming
I’m a child of the 90s, and naturally, I grew up with the wonderful consoles of that time and the early 2000s. I still remember the hours I could spend playing Zelda Ocarina of Time on my N64 or Final Fantasy VIII on my PS1 (yes I always preferred VIII to VII, it’s a question of memories…).
So when I discovered Pierre Roussel‘s illustrations, I instantly fell in love. This artist had the brilliant idea of imagining the flagship consoles of this generation in exploded versions. But he didn’t stop there, each layer is indeed filled with characters and cult video game scenes from this period. You can find the Xbox with the Master Chief, or an N64 or we see Link on Epona with the famous Starfox ship behind it.
