I think I’m pushing open doors by saying that Heavy Metal has completely changed the face of science fiction, whether in Europe or around the world. When you see the graphic power of the visuals of Moebius or Enki Bilal, you immediately understand the influence they may have had on modern artists.
Ali Hoff is one of the children of Metal Hurlantet and his style immediately reminds us of the worlds created by Moebius. The colors are clear, the lines are round and fine, and we plunge our feet forward into this world of science fiction. Influenced by the graphics of games like Monument Valley, Ali offers us breathtaking landscapes, sometimes abandoned, often in desert areas. We have the impression to follow the adventures of a character whose face we can’t see, simply wearing a mask.
