One, Two, Freddy’s coming for you…
Canadian artist Matthew Therrien is someone I follow regularly on Instagram, especially since he very often portrays various characters from the world of Horror. It is one of his series that interests us here. Indeed, Matthew has taken on a challenge to represent the main slashers and villains of Horror movies with an impressionistic touch.
We find Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees in their numerous iterations, but also Michael Myers, the Nun, and Pennywise. The style used by Matthew Therrien is very interesting here, expressionism working perfectly with the horror themes. There are relevant color choices and there is a certain uneasiness, a horrific aura of the most beautiful effect that emerges from all these illustrations.
