The Toys of Fiona Ng
I don’t want to grow old
I’ve always loved toys, in all their forms. Even though I collect them a lot these days, as a child, my favorite place on Earth was ToyRus. Even if my parents didn’t buy me anything, I took an incredible pleasure to wander in the shelves, to admire the different figurines or whatever. And it’s always a pleasure to discover artists who continue to work on these toys in more adult versions, directly addressing fans of a specific universe.
That’s exactly what Fiona Ng does by offering small figurines that she makes herself. She creates all this with resin and paints the whole thing by hand. I love each of her miniatures because even if they are all in a medieval-fantasy style, you can see some times more marked inspirations. I’m thinking here of all his creations around the world of Dark Souls, where we take a malicious pleasure to rediscover Siegmeyer or Ornstein at a reduced size.
