Robert Burden loves toys. The proof ? The main part of his art is all about them. But be careful : we are talking about THE toys, the ones we all played when we were kids (I mean, for those who are in their 30’s, I know, we’re getting old…) : TMNT, Masters of the Universe, GI Joe, Batman, Star Wars and so much more. Inspired by the real plastic characters (all of the real toys are part of his paintings and framed), this American artist living in San Francisco creates a real tribute to childhood and imagination, for those who didn’t really grow up… You can have a better look at his works in details on his site. Robert Burden est un amoureux des jouets. La preuve, la majeure partie de son art tourne autour de ces derniers. Attention, pas n’importe quels jouets : les vrais, les bons, ceux qui ont bercé l’enfance des grands enfants que nous sommes (enfin ceux qui ont la trentaine, je sais on se fait vieux…) : les Tortues Ninja, les Maîtres de l’Univers, GI Joe, Batman, Star Wars, j’en passe et des meilleures ! S’inspirant des véritables figurines, qui font partie intégrante de ses oeuvres (on les retrouve toutes au-dessus de ses peintures), cet artiste Américain vivant à San Francisco créé avec brio une ode à l’enfance et à l’imagination pour tous ceux qui n’ont pas vraiment grandis… Vous pouvez admirer plus en détails ses tableaux sur son site.
