Otaku Obscura – Anime Art Show by Joshua Budich @Spoke Art Gallery

Otaku Obscura : voici le nom de l’exposition solo de Joshua Budich à la Spoke Art, entièrement dédié à Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke, et Cowboy Bebop. Selon Budich, “la première fois que j’ai découvert l’animation frénétique et ultra stylisée de ces anime, ce fut comme un violent coup de foudre pour le jeune artiste que j’étais. Cette découverte m’a ouvert les portes d’un tout nouvel univers et d’une multitude de personnages. Je n’étais plus forcé de m’inspirer du style cartoonesque de Disney ! Voilà en quoi les anime ont eu une influence énorme sur mon travail“. Les amateurs apprécieront les hommages. Otaku Obscura is the name of the latest Joshua Budich solo art show at Spoke Art Gallery. Entirely dedicated to Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke, and Cowboy Bebop. For Budich, “the hyper-stylized, frenetic animation was like a bolt of inspirational lightning to a young artist. Once I got a taste, my eyes were open to whole new world of characters and themes. No longer was I tethered to a bland, pseudo-realistic, Disney-esque approach to the drawing. Anime has had a huge influence in my work”. Anime lovers will love this show, believe me.
